$4.2M grant may enhance specialized dental care at UCLA clinic

...

The University of California, Los Angeles School of Dentistry announced that it has received a $4.2 million state disbursement from the California Health Facility Financing Authority to expand its Special Patient Care Clinic.

The grant represents an opportunity for the clinic to increase its capacity by 10-fold, allowing clinicians at the university to better address the special clinical needs of a larger proportion of vulnerable patients. The expansion will include eight patient operatories; office space for faculty, resident practitioners and support staff; more admissions slots for the general practice residency program and additional rotational opportunities for dental students in special patient care.

The university expects these changes to shorten wait times for general and specialized dental appointments and improve the ability to train the next generation of dental residents and students
