ADA to host webinar on new CMS regulations applicable to dentistry
Virtual presentation set for Aug. 12
The American Dental Association is hosting a virtual webinar Aug. 12 explaining the minutiae of recent CMS regulations for dentists who accept public or commercial insurance.
Following the webinar — How Do Recent CMS Regulations Apply to Dentistry? — Natalia Chalmers, D.D.S., Ph.D., chief dental officer of CMS, will present and moderate a Q&A discussion.
CMS has released regulations that removed a prohibition on adult dental benefits as an essential health benefit in March and revised standards for access in Medicaid managed care organizations in April. Last month, the agency released its 2025 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Proposed Rules, which explain how CMS plans to further carry out the limited medically necessary dental benefit in 2025.
Ian Hedges, ADA director of Medicaid and Medicare Program Policy, will address these changes and regulations at the Aug. 12 webinar, from how they will affect patients and their insurance options to whether they could help Medicaid patients access more dental services.
The webinar is set to take place at noon CDT/1 p.m. EDT. Attendees can submit questions on the live webinar to Dr. Chalmers about dentistry’s role in these regulations.
