HPI webinars to focus on workforce issues, state of dental economy

The ADA Health Policy Institute will present new data on the dental workforce shortage and state of the dental economy in two new webinars Oct. 3 and Oct. 5.
On Monday, Oct. 3, at noon Central time, log in for "Dental Workforce Shortages: Data to Navigate Today's Labor Market," as a collaborative group including the HPI, the American Dental Hygienists' Association, the Dental Assisting National Board, the American Dental Assistants Association and ignite DA presents research on the workforce shortage that covers questions including:
- What keeps dental assistants and dental hygienists satisfied in their roles?
- What workplace conditions are to blame for dental assistants and dental hygienists leaving their positions?
- What levers are available to recruit and retain a high-quality dental workforce?
- Where do we go from here?
Chelsea Fosse, D.M.D., HPI senior health policy analyst will present findings and panelists for the program include Hana Alberti, D.D.S., senior director, for the ADA Center for Dental Practice Policy; JoAnn Gurenlian, R.D.H., Ph.D., ADHA director of education and research; and Hanna Aronovich, DANB chief marketing and communications officer. Dr. Marko Vujicic, Ph.D., HPI chief economist and vice president, will serve as moderator. The webinar will include time for an audience Q&A.
On Wednesday, Oct. 5 at noon Central time, log in to "State of the Dental Economy - Q3 2022 Update" to learn the latest data on the state of the dental economy in the U.S. The webinar will include HPI's monthly polling data from dental practices nationwide and other data sources that show the latest trends in dental spending, patient volume, employment, wages and the top concerns of dental practices as well as big-picture implications for the dental care sector.
Panelists for this webinar include Krishna Aravamudhan, B.D.S., vice president of the ADA Practice Institute; Wardha Inam, Ph.D., co-founder and CEO of Overjet, a company that focuses on artificial intelligence solutions for dentistry; and Stephen E. Thorne, IV, founder and CEO of Pacific Dental Services, a dental support organization in Costa Mesa, California. Brad Munson, HPI senior research analyst, will be the presenter for this program and Dr. Vujicic will serve as moderator. The webinar will also include time for an audience Q & A.
