Spread the news of Dental Infection Control Awareness Month

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect dental practices across the country, the Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention (OSAP) is spearheading an annual campaign observing  Dental Infection Control Awareness Month , with plans to hold it each year in September.

The goals of Dental Infection Control Awareness Month are to supplement Centers for Disease Control and Prevention information, support infection control coordinators and build patient trust in infection control.

Dental practices can demonstrate their commitment to infection control with free campaign materials from OSAP, including posters, brochures, letters, sample social media posts and conversation starter scripts.

In addition, OSAP is offering a scholarship for practicing dental assistants to attend its 2022 Dental Infection Control Boot Camp and receive one free year of organization membership. The application deadline is Oct. 29.

The ADA Practice Institute is encouraging dental teams to participate by talking to their patients about what their practice is doing to protect them. ADA members can find real-time guidance and critical advocacy to lead dental teams through the pandemic at ADA.org/Virus.
